Maersk Line Graduate Programme

Below you will find a series of frequently asked questions and answers.
01. Do I have to apply in the country of my citizenship/legal residence?
No, applications are not restricted based on your citizenship/country of legal residence. However, if you get accepted into the Programme outside your own country, the job offer will be subject to you being able to obtain a work permit for the period specified in the employment contract.
02. Do I have to wait until the next Programme starts to begin working for Maersk Line?
If you get accepted to the programme several months before the official start of the Programme, you will be able to commence in your position immediately.
03. Is there an application deadline?
No. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
04. Is the Internet the only way to apply?
No. You can either apply online or contact a local Maersk Line office in your country to know more about the Maersk Line Graduate Programme and the available opportunities.
05. If I want to apply for positions in several countries simultaneously, should I send separate applications for each country?
Yes. The application process is not centralised. Should you wish to apply for positions in several countries at once, applications should be submitted individually to each country.
06. If my application is rejected in one country, can I apply in another country during the same year?
Yes, you may apply in a different country the same year.
07. Can I submit an application before I graduate?
Yes, but you need to have graduated before you begin the Programme.
08. Is the Programme accredited?
The Programme is not accredited by any university. However, the second seminar will be held in collaboration with a partner business school at an international location, and you will receive a certificate upon completion.
09. Do I receive a salary during the Programme?
Yes. As an employee of the company, your salary will be market-based.
10. Does it cost anything to participate in the Programme?
All costs associated with participating in the Programme such as accommodation, tuition, travel, etc., are borne by Maersk Line.
11. Am I guaranteed an international assignment upon completion of the Programme?
We encourage and support our top performers to embark on a 2 year expatriation assignment.
12. How will I be evaluated?
Maersk Line has a strong performance culture and actively differentiates based on performance. There will be no written exams, but you will be evaluated on your performance appraisals and project work. Maersk Line heavily invests in the Programme participants, and as a result, performance expectations will be high
13. As a graduate of the Programme, what opportunities would be available to me?
Upon successful completion of the Programme and based upon your performance during the Programme there will be several challenging opportunities available to you within Maersk Line.
14. Am I guaranteed an international assignment upon completion of the Programme?
