The most appealing part of the Maersk talent development programme in which I participated was the blended learning approach that combined on-the-job learning with academic seminars in Copenhagen, Denmark. I worked for 3 different functions in the container business entities within the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group, namely, Customer Service, Project Management and Sales. These exciting opportunities took me to different parts of India over the 2 years. This experience gave me broad knowledge of different pillars of the container shipping business and prepared me for greater responsibility in my first posting overseas to Algeciras, Spain. The other major benefits were the cultural understanding and international network that I built during the seminars in Copenhagen with other programme participants.
